Multicultural Art
This half term Class 2 have looked at different types of art from around the world for our new topic ‘Multicultural Me’. We have talked about Mendhi Henna patterns and children have made their own by drawing around their hands and carefully adding detailed drawings. As well as this, children have painted bright patterns and weaved them together in order to design their own ‘Kente Cloth’ from Africa and also practiced embossing tooling foil to create Mexican Folk Mirror Art. The artwork has made a beautiful display!
Food Groups
Class 2 have begun to learn all about the Eatwell Plate and how we can eat a healthy, balanced diet. Their first job was to work with a partner to sort pictures of food into the 5 main food groups and talk about why we should eat lots of some groups and not too much of others!
