During Spring Term 2 we were lucky enough to have Reverent Ian come into school to help us to create our very own cave paintings that looked just like those made by cave men in the Stone Age! We had already looked at lots of real-life examples and practiced drawing the animal shapes using charcoal so we were very excited to begin. We first glued sand to a very large piece of paper to make it feel rough and crumbly like a cave wall. Next, we used sponges and paint in natural colours to create beautiful pictures of Stone Age animals. There were lots of amazing horses, bulls and deer painted. Finally, we painted around our hand print, the cave man way of adding your signature!
