We have had another busy week this week with lots of activities taking place both in school and around Durham.
We started on Monday with Destination Judo sessions for all of our pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. Hannah Lewis visited us to show us how exciting judo can be. As you can see from the photographs, the junior pupils had a fantastic time.
On Wednesday, our Reception and Year 1 pupils travelled to Consett Leisure Centre to take part in a Soccertots Festival. Although it was cold, they had a fantastic time and were able to show off their skills to some of the Young Leaders who work with Leisureworks.
Our Year 6 pupils travelled to Durham Cathedral on Wednesday in their role as Mini Police. They had been asked to support the Commonwealth celebrations which took place. They showed how trustworthy and sensible they can be as they led other children through busy crowds to the Cathedral. They then took part in the service which was held in the Cathedral. Excellent behaviour from everyone – well done!
Our Celebration assembly this week was a grand affair – we were joined by PC Johnson, Mr Hogg, the PCC, and Nick Mason OBE. During the celebration our 4 Mini Police who travelled to London told the rest of the school about their adventures as well as showing photographs of their trip.
Certificates were given out, the blue team won team of the week and also, the Infants won extra playtime for the highest attendance – what a morning!
Let’s hope that next week is as exciting as this week!
