Thinking Dots

The school council have recently worked with Clare Garnham, an OASES Senior Education Officer to consider reasons why we should save energy. Some of the ideas were to save money, help the environment by reducing pollution and looking after the world’s resources. They carried out an audit which identified good and bad practice within the school. There was a lot of good practice going on in relation to energy use in the school!

The council thought of ideas on how to remind everyone how to use the school lights efficiently and started an activity where ‘thinking dots’ are put on lights. These red dots go above lights which do not need to be on in normal daylight hours and are called thinking dots to encourage people to stop and think before they switch these lights. They also created some posters to put up around the school. Great work school council!
